Sydney (boy)

Sydney Ireland Dublin I like the name Sydney, and although I vow to use Sydney Ireland for a girl's name, if you add Dublin, it becomes slightly more masculine. My mother is from Belfast, and since that doesn't sound as nice as Sydney, nor Ireland, nor Dublin... hey its all Irish to me.. except Sydney... which is Australian.. but you get the point.

Sydney, the capital of Australia was named after Thomas Townshend, 1st Vicount Sydney (1733-1800), the British Home Secretary who helped establish the charter that created it. Arthur Phillip, who founded Sydney as a British penal colony in 1877, was originally going to name it Albion until he changed his mind and decided to name it after Townshend.
